What is Miden?
Miden is a zero-knowledge rollup Layer 2 on Ethereum focused on programmable privacy for onchain finance. Spun off from Polygon Labs on April 29, 2025, the platform enables compliant private transactions for payments and DeFi without revealing sensitive user data.
The project secured $25M in seed funding from notable backers including a16z crypto, 1kx, Hack VC, Symbolic Capital, and Finality Capital Partners. Currently in testnet stage (v0.12), Miden targets mainnet launch in 2026.
Miden’s architecture supports private asset transfers, decentralized exchange operations, and shielded financial activities through its testnet ecosystem, which includes projects like ZoroSwap (DEX), Dome (private asset management), and a native naming system.
