Overview
What is Relay Protocol?
Relay Protocol is a cross-chain payments infrastructure that enables instant token transfers, swaps, and execution across multiple blockchains. The protocol supports 85+ chains including Ethereum, Solana, Bitcoin, Arbitrum, and Base, delivering transactions with a median settlement time of 6 seconds. Relay abstracts blockchain fragmentation to create seamless multichain experiences for both users and developers.
The protocol has raised $43M in total funding, including a $17M Series B round led by Archetype and Union Square Ventures (USV). Relay maintains 99.9% uptime and processes cross-chain transactions at significantly lower costs compared to traditional bridges. The platform launched its mainnet in 2024 and continues expanding its supported chain ecosystem.
Relay is developing Relay Chain, a purpose-built Layer 1 blockchain designed specifically for cross-chain operations. The protocol is also connected to Reservoir, a liquidity aggregation platform that powers NFT trading and token swaps across multiple marketplaces and decentralized exchanges.
